Tuition Fee Encumbrance
If a student, without an approved extension, does not pay their tuition fees by the due date an encumbrance will be placed on the student's account. A letter will be sent to the student notifying them of the encumbrance.
This encumbrance will stop:
- library borrowing and other library services
- access to Monash University's computer system
- access to enrolment records, examination results and academic transcripts
- graduation
Relevant Policies
Students who continue not to pay tuition and amenities fees will have their enrolment invalidated. (See Invalidation of enrolment.)
To Lift an Encumbrance
- The student must pay the outstanding amount owing. (See Payment methods.)
- When payment is receipted by Monash University, it will take approximately 2-3 working days for a student's computer access to be reinstated. Please note that payments made on a Friday afternoon, via the phone or internet banking systems will not be receipted by the University until the following Monday.
