Sibling Discount on Tuition Fees

Eligibility

• Where two or more siblings are enrolled in full-fee paying courses in the same semester, a discount may be sought for the course fees
• Both siblings must be enrolled in an award course at an Australian campus of Monash University
• NB: Definition of sibling: The student must be one of two or more children having one or both parents in common. This discount is not available to family members outside the sibling relationship such as step brother/sister, cousins, spouses and so on.

Discount

• 10% on the semester course fee
• The discount is applied to the sibling paying the higher course fee
• Students in receipt of the sibling discount are not eligible for any other course fee discount

To Apply

1. Application must be made before the census date of the semester
2. An application form may downloaded or obtained from the Student Services Centres on each campus. Proof of the relationship, eg certified copies of both certificates, must be supplied.
3. International students are to submit their application to the Monash International Office on their campus. Domestic students are to submit their application to the Student Services Centre on their campus.
4. Students will be notified by mail of the outcome of the request for the sibling discount. A reference number will be provided for use in future applications.

Applications must be made for every semester that the students wish to have the discount applied. Proof of the relationship is not required for subsequent applications, however the student is asked to quote the relevant reference number.

Withdrawal From Course

Students who have received the sibling discount, then one sibling withdraws or intermits from the course, will have the tuition fee recalculated and may owe the University additional money.

Note: Applications for discounts on past Semesters will not be applied retrospectively.
