2. Your Examination Timetable

  • Your timetable will be published on the date listed above in the Web Enrolment System (WES), under “Course Progression”.
  • Your timetable will include the exam date, exam starting time (which is the start of reading time), the exam duration and your currently recorded exam venue details.
  • To access the full address details of the examination venue, click on the "venue" field on your timetable for each examination you are required to sit.
  • Examination dates/times are not flexible and cannot be changed.

3. Examination venues

Monash University has a network of examination venues within Australia and overseas. If you live within 150km from the closest exam venue location on the list, you are required to sit your examination/s at that location.  If you live within the metropolitan area of a capital city you must sit your examination/s at that network examination venue.

4. What to do if your exam venue indicates “you must nominate a venue”.

If your timetable venue indicates “you must nominate a venue you must choose an examination venue from the list of network examination venues and follow the directions in item 5 below.

5. How to change your examination venue?

  • If  you need to change/nominate your recorded examination venue, you must complete this process on line in the Web Enrolment System (WES), go to “Course Progression” or download the nomination form and return it to the Examinations Unit.  The deadline to nominate or make a change to your exam venue is shown above.
  • If you have not made the necessary change to your examination venue by the deadline, a fee may apply. You will need to contact the Examination Unit on 03 990 26891, or email gipps.exams@adm.monash.edu.au if you are unable to register your required change in the WES online examination venue system.
  • You must verify your registration with your examination venue one week prior to the first scheduled examination or entry to the examination may be refused. Exception: Do not ring if your particular venue information states "DO NOT PHONE"

6. Deadline date to nominate or change your exam venue

  • If you are unable to nominate or change your examination venue in the WES system due to the lateness of your nomination you will incur a $100 late fee. In some cases late nominations may not be accepted.

7. If you change your examination venue allow 7 days for the change to appear on your WES exam timetable

  • Allow seven days for your change of venue to appear on your examination timetable in WES.  The full address details of your new examination venue will also be displayed. Check the exam starting time as this can vary slightly from venue to venue.

8. Examination venue more than 150km away (remote students)

  • If you live more than 150km from the nearest network examination venue list you may need to nominate a Special Local Invigilator (SLI).  To apply for an SLI, complete the nomination form available in WES (course progression section).   The SLI you nominate should be from of the following recommended categories. You must provide appropriate evidence of your nominated SLI such as a business card or an official letter on company letterhead which clearly shows the position held and the Business/Organisation or Institution name. Your SLI application will not be accepted without evidence being provided.

The SLI must NOT be a relative, friend, or have any vested interest in your studies. Your Invigilator must be able to:

  • Read and understand English
  • Must be available to supervise your examination at the date and time specified on your examination timetable (your local time) as these dates are not flexible.
  • Students must be supervised at all times and not be left unattended at any time during the exam.
  • Applications nominating an SLI for work reasons will not be considered.
  • If approved, your SLI venue will appear on your WES examination timetable within 7 days.
  • If your request is NOT approved an email will be sent to your Monash student email account within two weeks.

9. What to take to an examination

  1. Photographic ID (student ID card or drivers licence).
  2. Writing implements –Pens. (Pencils may be required for completion of multi-choice answer sheets)
  3. A printed copy of your exam timetable
  4. Any additional items as specified in your study material or by your teaching department. (Consult your teaching department if you require further information).

11. Access your results

Go to results
