MONSU Peninsula/Caulfield proudly hosts our annual BEACH DAY event on Friday 27th February for new 1st year students! Come join us on a fun filled day @ Mordialloc foreshore, where we will have a BBQ, play games with and get to know your fellow students and hit the beach before heading for the after-party in the city! Tickets will be sold on both the 17th Feb in the enrolment area or from the MONSU Service Desk until sold out. Tickets capped at 200 for Peninsula students and always sell out fast so get in quick to secure your place!

Undertaking biomedical research at MIMR is an enriching and rewarding experience. As a dedicated research institute, MIMR offers opportunities not always found in university departments where staff have heavy teaching loads.

MIMR has more than 200 potential supervisors in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, stem cells and clinical research, who are internationally renowned for their research.

Students at MIMR have access to state-of-the-art technology, including embryo microinjection, gene arrays, laser-capture micro dissection, confocal microscopy, stem cell technologies and cell imaging.

MIMR's Student Open Day gives students the opportunity to meet senior scientists, tour our facilities and learn about the exciting and diverse projects available for students in 2010. The 2010 student handbook, including research projects on offer, will be available on the day and online.

A free shuttle bus will run from Building 64 to MIMR from 4.30 - 5.15pm and will return at the conclusion of Open Day.

Information evening for prospective PhD, Masters and Honours students to discuss opportunities for study and research with staff from the major clinical units at the Alfred hospital and Monash and La Trobe University departments located on site.

AMREP (Alfred Medical Research and Education Precinct) is one of Australia's largest teaching and research hospital/research institute/University precincts. Areas of research include occupational and environmental health, emergency and trauma, ANZICS, biostatistics, epidemiological modeling, cardiovascular health, respiratory health, and clinical pharmacology.

The Master of Public Health offered by the Victorian Consortium of Public Health is an internationally recognised postgraduate degree, offered by four Victorian universities: Deakin, La Trobe, Melbourne and Monash. Monash University is coordinating the MPH during 2009.

Public Health is the combination of humanities and science that provides the knowledge, skills and practices to protect, promote and restore population health. A postgraduate degree in public health is highly relevant to the professional development and continuing education of a broad range of health professions. The Master of Public Health course provides graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct public health research; develop, analyse and implement policy; and to plan and evaluate health services and programs.

The information evening starts at 6.30 pm in Lecture Theatre 1, Basement, 207 Bouverie Street, Parkville and is followed by an expo by the Universities on the 4th floor. Supper is provided. The evening finishes at 8.30.
