Honours in European Studies

Availability

Honours may be taken in European Studies.

Combined honours may be taken in European Studies and another discipline provided that all honours requirements have been met in both disciplines and subject to the approval of both Programs or Centres. Mid-year entry is offered by this Centre.

Honours Program

The honours course consists of EUR4000 (Research Project) plus any further combination of fourth-year-level units in European Studies with an additional value of 24 points. The due date for submission of the research project is 31 October.

The Centre may grand an extension of time for submission of the honours thesis or for final coursework up to the last day of the examination period of the semester in which the work is due. Applications for extensions beyond this date must be made to the Committee for Undergraduate Studies.

First or second semester

  • EUR4530 Special reading course (permission required); 12 points

Second semester

  • EUR4520 Filming the nation: (re)configuring European national myths; 12 points
  • LLC4010 European Language Policy; 12 points
