Monash e-Research Centre eXPO: Technological Innovation Transforming Research
Exhibition & Demonstrations

All researchers, students, staff and external visitors are invited to attend the Monash e-Research Centre's 'eXPO', Technological innovation transforming research, an exhibition which includes informative demonstrations and a series of presentations.
The large data sets being produced and the increased processing power available through local and global compute facilities are enabling the development of new research methods that reveal new understanding. Techniques have evolved for effective data management (such as the new TARDIS/MyTARDIS), remote computation and the operation of remote instruments have dramatically increased the options for researchers and there have been significant advances in visualisation. Likewise, new collaboration technologies mean that remote teams can now work together in ways that were not previously possible.
Staff will highlight a range of practical tools for global collaborative research as well as smaller/niche research - providing personal advice and demonstrations on the use of High Performance Computing (HPC) and visualisation services, effective data storage and management as well as information on cutting-edge high definition teleconferencing...and more.
The Monash e-Research Centre supports Monash researchers by harnessing the resources of the IT Services Division, the Library and the Faculty of Information Technology to deliver and support emerging technologies.
