Medicine iBrix pilot (MiBrix) project

A project in conjunction with the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences to explore the use of low-cost modular networked disk storage technologies, and hence gain staff familiarity with the technology, establish a pilot service and assess its suitability for wider applications.  The project is managed as a sub-project activity of the LaRDS project.

Major project tasks include:

  • Commission Dell disk store arrays in ITS machine room (total 1 equipment rack)
  • Commission iBrix storage management software
  • Integrate Medicine faculty server disk store with MiBrix disk store and LaRDS tape store (e.g. using SRB).
