Mediaflux Digital Asset Management System (DAMS)

Mediaflux is a Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) that has been developed to meet the specific needs of researchers. The Mediaflux Desktop is an integrated data management web-based application that provides a flexible front-end for data ingestion and access. The applications supports stringent access controls, and also allows the creation and use of customised and standard metadata schemata.

Mediaflux supports most data types and formats including, but not limited to: documents, images, audio files, video files, web content and datasets. The platform can also be extended to support other files and data types.

Mediaflux comprises three main components including the:

• Mediaflux database engine, an XML standards-based Object Database (XODB),
• Mediaflux Toolkit, a comprehensive library of tools to build custom applications, and
• Mediaflux Desktop, a web portal DAMS application developed to a Monash University specification.
