About the Monash e-Research Centre

The Monash e-Research Centre was established in 2005 pursuant to a Strategic Plan.

The Centre's role is to build collaborations between research disciplines, nuture e-Research developments and to build bridges between researchers and service providers. 

The Centre is an initiative of the DVC Research to support researchers, by harnessing the resources and capacities of the IT Services Division, the Library and computer scientists in the Faculty of Information Technology to create ICT services that enhance research capability. The Centre is guided by the e-Research@Monash Steering Committee

The aims of the Centre are to assist to improve the research performance of the University through:

  • improved use of ICT technologies,
  • improved dialogue between IT developers in the Faculty of IT and end-user researchers in the other faculties,
  • improved dialogue between ITS and researchers,
  • nurturing development of e-Research and GRID technologies,
  • engagement with industry and government and
  • engagement with national and international collaborations.

The Centre aims to nurture and proactively develop e-research links – not just within the university sector, but with researchers in industry and the community. With diverse research capabilities, outstanding infrastructure, close links to the new Australian Synchrotron and leading experts in grid technology, Monash University is uniquely placed to lead Australia in e-research.
