2013 Monash University Mentoring Scheme for Women

Applications are now closed

The Mentoring Scheme for Women is open to both academic and professional female staff and aims to increase access to the learning and developmental opportunities provided by a mentoring relationship.

To be eligible to participate as a mentee you must be:

  • Female academic staff up to and including Level E (Professor)
  • Female professional staff up to and including HEW 10A

To participate as a mentor, you must be:

  • Male and female academic staff at Level C (senior lecturer) & above
  • Male and female professional staff at HEW Level 7 and above

In addition to the above eligibility criteria, applicants are required to have been employed by Monash University (either full-time or part-time) for a minimum of 2 years and to be based on an Australian campus.

During the 6 month program which runs from late May until late November, each mentee is matched with a more senior mentor (female or male) from another area of the University.  Both parties in the mentoring relationship are required to attend a preparation session (3 hours) and then meet at negotiated times (approximately once a month) throughout the program.

To maintain the high quality of this program, the number of mentee/mentor partnerships being supported by the Scheme this year will be limited to 60.
