Exam Arrangements

Exam conditions can be adjusted for eligible students. Students can register with the Disability Liaison Unit (DLU) to apply for:

  • extra time for working (reading and writing) or taking rest breaks.
  • use of a computer,  adaptive software, or other equipment.
  • use of a basic dictionary or calculator.
  • sitting in a separate or private venue.
  • having sufficient time between exams.
  • having someone to read and / or write for you in your exam.

Other adjustments to exam conditions might be appropriate depending on the individual's circumstances.

Alternative Arrangements for Assessments (AAAs) must be specified in medical documentation provided by a relevant health professional. These recommendations are discussed and finalised when you meet with a Disability Liaison Officer (DLO).

Register in plenty of time

It is very important for students requesting adjustments to exam conditions to register with the DLU as soon as they become aware that they may require these adjustments. This will allow enough time for appropriate accommodations to be put in place.
