Conditions applying to building and metal trades staff

This part applies to the following categories of trades and services staff: Carpenters, Electricians, Fitters, Oiler/Greasers, Painters, Plant Attendants, Plumbers, Store Attendants (as defined under clause 3); and Trade Assistants

Section 3 - Hours of Work, Breaks, Overtime, Shift Work, Weekend Work

77. Span of Hours

With the exception of any staff engaged in shift work, the ordinary hours of work m ay be worked on any day Monday to Friday and shall be worked continuously (except for meal breaks) between 7.00am and 6.00pm.

The scheduling of hours of work in each department/workplace shall take into consideration the provision of service to students a nd staff and the area's work needs. After considering those factors, a supervisor may change the start and finish times to staff within the local work area, after consultation with affected staff members.
