Get course information - step 4 of 6

Refer to the current University Handbook for course and unit information

Before you enrol in units, you need to:

  1. Understand your course structure
Most courses have specific requirements and units that you must take (core requirements). Some have units you can choose (electives)

  2. Know the units and credit points needed for your course
Doing additional units over course requirements is not allowed

  3. Check which units are available
Some units cannot be taken without doing other units first (pre-requisites), or at the same time (co-requisites)

If relevant, find out if your faculty allows part-time study and the maximum time allowed to complete your course

  4. Check your offer letter
It will say if you must attend a faculty course information session (most round 1 and some round 2 offers) or view information online (most round 2 or later offers).

See faculty course information sessions for:

  • A list of the documentation that you need to bring with you
  • Extra information for double degree and off-campus students.

Faculty information

Consider your options:

  • If enrolling at the start of the year, choose units for both semesters 1 and 2
  • For mid year enrolment, choose units for semester 2 only

Record your unit choices on your checklist.
If you need help, contact a faculty course adviser.

Use the table to access course information and session details at your faculty website/s.
