The Introductory Academic Program (IAP) is an intensive five-week, full-time program designed to prepare students for social, cultural and academic life at Monash University.
Through the program you will become familiar with academic expectations and issues involved in studying at Monash University.

The Introductory Academic Program is for international students who have received a Full Offer to study at Monash University and want to develop skills in:
- academic vocabulary
- critical thinking
- independent learning
- lecture note-taking.

The five-week, full-time, intensive program is run twice a year prior to
university semester commencement.
Classes are held Monday to Friday, usually between 11 am – 5 pm (25 hours per week),
at the Monash University Clayton campus.
The program is designed to:
- prepare you for academic, cultural and social life at Monash University
- provide you with intensive academic skills training.

The IAP program provides students with the opportunity to:
- integrate into the Monash learning community
- learn how Monash University functions
- obtain world-class language tuition in a caring learning environment
- participate in tutorials and seminars
- adjust to the academic and cultural conventions of English-speaking societies
- enjoy new friendships
- enhance their marketable career skills
- discuss and debate global issues in a cross-cultural context.

Tuition fees must be paid prior to commencement.
You must also budget for compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and your accommodation and living expenses.
Tuition fees are A$1,850 plus a one-off enrolment fee of $100

International students can apply for admission to the Introductory Academic
Program only when receiving a Full Offer to study at Monash University.
