Author, teacher, storyteller and dramatist Bernie Monagle will present on the barriers to higher education encountered by students with learning disabilities or who are 'at risk'. Bernie's own story of triumph is inspirational in itself. Bernie has been teaching students for nearly 30 years and has pioneered a mentoring program to re-connect disengaged students. He is also the author of several junior and young adult fiction including Blue Girl, Yella Fella, Monstered, Hot Hits and Hot Hits - The Remix, with another book in progress. A gifted communicator, Bernie never fails to engage and inspire his audience. This motivational presentation will be of value to all academic and professional staff as well as students.
