Stolen Generations Victoria, Reconciliation Victoria and NATSICC

Melissa Brickell, a descendant of the Yorta Yorta and Wiradjeri peoples, is currently Coordinator of Aboriginal Partnerships at MacKillop Family Services. She has a high profile involvement in the Stolen Generations movement, advocating for the implementation of the Bringing them Home Report (HREOC 1997) at state and national levels. Melissa has an extensive background in teaching, training and welfare across public and private sectors with numerous community responsibilities, including Director of Stolen Generations Victoria, Member of Stolen Generations Alliance National, Member of Aboriginal Catholic Ministry Victoria, Trustee of Opening the Doors Foundation Victoria, Councillor on Victorian Aboriginal Catholic Council, Commissioner of National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ecumenical Commission and Treasurer of National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council (NATSICC).

Marjorie Thorpe

Marjorie Thorpe, a descendant of the Gunnai and Maar people of Southern Australia, was born and raised in Yallourn, Victoria. She is currently Regional Indigenous Facilitator, Bairnsdale, for the Department of Sustainability and Environment. She was a director of the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) and Coordinator of the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC) and also held the positions of Victorian Co-Commissioner for the Stolen Generations Inquiry and Council member for the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation.
