Student identity (ID) cards

Using your ID card

You can use your student ID card to:

  • identify yourself on campus and at exams
  • borrow from the library
  • get access to secure buildings
  • add credit to your print balance.

ID cards are valid for the duration of your course (with a maximum of five years). They remain the property of the University and are not transferable.

New students

You'll get an ID card as part of the enrolment process but if you miss your enrolment day, you can visit Monash Connect on your campus and we'll create one for you.

Off-campus students

As an off-campus student you may need a student ID card. You can order one at off-campus learning student identity card.

Expired cards

If your ID card has expired, bring it to Monash Connect for a free replacement.

If you are an off-campus student, phone 03 9902 6011 to organise a replacement.

Damaged, lost or stolen cards

If you have damaged or lost your ID card, you can get a new one from Monash Connect for a fee of $36. You'll need to bring photo ID, such as a driver's licence or passport.

Report the loss

You'll also need to report the loss to the Library to stop anyone from borrowing books in your name. If you have lab or computer room access, you need to report it to security and traffic.
