Whitsundays Dive Trip
Here's the plan: Go to the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, hire one (or several!) large sailing catamarans for a week, and sail from island to island, diving off the boat. We'll take the portable compressor so that the diving is nice and cheap. The diving will be similar to the Great Barrier Reef (disclaimer: we're not allowed to sail to the reef, but the diving in the Whitsundays is still pretty awesome), the sailing will be great fun, and the long summer evenings will be perfect for chatting, or squeezing in another dive. Why the plan is good: -We get our own liveaboards, which we can take where we like, whenever we like. -Taking the compressor beats paying $15 for air fills. -We get 7 nights for approx. the same price as a 2 night liveaboard. -Everyone will get plenty of diving done in 7 nights! -No carrying the zodiac

pre-Whitsundays road trip
If anyone would like to join us for the road trip part of the itinerary, they are most welcome! There should be suitable dives for anyone with recent diving experience. Ideally, there would be a few people who would drive up together, and then back again, but it might be possible for you to drive up and fly back, although you'd probably need to pay a contribution of fuel money to get the car back.

Wilson Prom Trip
Over the Melbourne Cup long weekend it is traditional for the private dive clubs of Victoria to visit Wilson's Prom for awesome diving. The club will be showing up in force with compressors, boats, tents etc. for a great long weekend of diving and bush walking (if it's too windy).

Contact the club for more details.

Phillip Island Shore Diving Day
Steve, Jack C, Jack N and Cam had a great day at Phillip Island on Sunday. We dived off Smiths Beach, and saw a blue devil, crays, swell sharks and gorgian fans around some nice ledges, all in less than 8m!

The second dive was at Mandeville Rd, and was a fantastic shore dive. The terrain was rugged and rocky, with 5m high walls, and bommies in 13m. We saw crays, swell sharks, and lots of kelp and black basalt. Also had interesting entry & exit in true shore-dive style...
