Introduction
The ROAD SAFETY RESEARCH,
POLICING AND EDUCATION CONFERENCE is the premium annual forum on
road safety policy and practice. It provides a venue for the latest
advances in road safety related policing, education and research
to be presented to meet the objective of a sustained reduction in
road trauma across Australia.
This year the Conference
is being held in Melbourne from the 19th November 2001 to 20th November
2001. The Conference Workshops is held on the
18th November 2001.
Conference Objectives
The objectives of the
conference are to:
- Identify measures
which will Regain the
Momentum to bring down road trauma.
- Present the latest
findings on measures to
reduce trauma from road safety research,
policing and education.
- Identify and address
issues critical to bringing
about a sustained decrease in road trauma and
ensuring continued road safety advances.
- Identify priorities
for road safety research to
development, programs and practices.
The conference will
feature invited keynote and
concurrent presentations focussing on cutting edge
developments in road safety research, policing and
education, such as Evaluation of Programs and
Methodology, Safety of Motorcyclists, Bicyclists and
Pedestrians, Drug and Alcohol Effects on Road
Safety, Vehicle Safety, Speed, Fatigue and Young
Road Users and Older Road Users.
Workshops on significant
current road safety issues
will be held on Sunday 18 November 2001.
