Abstract:
The conference paper
will outline the use of a variety of data sources which aid in the
intelligence driven traffic enforcement activities utilised by the
Queensland Police Service. The paper will touch on the elements
of data warehousing initiative undertaken by State Traffic Support
Branch and will discuss the practical application of such information
by police in the field. Data sources highlighted throughout the
presentation will be Road CrashData, Traffic Complaints Data, Enforcement
Activity Data, Heavy Vehicle Intelligence and the use of Geo-coded
information. This paper will also touch on research conducted by
the Queensland Police Service as to the representation of individuals
in the road toll with significant traffic/criminal histories.
