Call for Papers

The call for papers has now closed - please note that late submissions will not be accepted.

Have you designed or delivered a successful student transition program or initiative at Monash University? Are you aware of important research, outcomes and experiences that would benefit the transition needs of students and related efforts of your colleagues within the Monash community? Then this is your opportunity to share ideas, innovative programs, research results, instructional designs, and new academic concepts to help an increasingly diverse body of students become more successful learners and experience smooth transitions into and through the Monash student experience.

We are calling for papers for concurrent sessions that will explore the themes ‘Settled, Connected, Equipped, Motivated, Engaged, Extended’. The Monash Transition Roundtable lends itself to a wide variety of subjects. Possible topics for session contributions are listed below.

Criteria for selection of Roundtable papers

Quality:
Overall quality of the proposed paper will be the most important criterion. The proposal should clearly state the scope and significance of the topic to the potential audience. Consideration will be given to the design of the delivery, the scope of its content, and the expertise of the presenter.

Relevance:
Proposed papers will be evaluated for relevance to the intended audience. Priority will be given to papers which provide participants with substantive information in regard to one or more of the conference themes.

Clarity and Unity of Design:
The proposal should show evidence of planning structure and indicate possibilities for audience interaction.

Student Submissions:
Special consideration will be given to any submission from students. Potential participants are asked to encourage student submissions or make joint submissions.

The paper assessment panel will contact you to notify you of the outcome of your submission by Monday, 6 October 2008.

Data Projector, PC and Screen will be provided in each room
Authors are required to bring a copy of their presentation on a memory stick / USB
