Professor Rick Iverson

Rick Iverson is a Professor of Human Resource Management at the Faculty of Business Administration, Simon Fraser University. He received his PhD in Industrial Sociology from the University of Iowa. Rick has published over 50 refereed research articles and book chapters. He has undertaken more than a dozen consultancy projects on the causes and intervention strategies for the management of absenteeism and turnover in private and public sector organizations in Australia, Canada, and the US. Rick joined SFU Business in 2001 from the University of Melbourne. He was awarded the Best Convention Paper by the HR Division at the National Academy of Management meetings in the US in 1999, 2000, and 2004. Rick currently serves on the editorial boards of Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Review, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and the International Journal of Selection and Assessment. Rick is the recipient of the Faculty of Business Administration's Annual Excellence in Research Award for 2005 and the TD Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award for 2004.

Human resource management and organizational performance; high performance work systems; occupational injury; absenteeism, turnover, and downsizing; organizational, union and dual commitment, psychological contracts and change management.
