Forward To The Past? The outlook for teamwork research.
The International Workshop On Teamworking is an
established international forum for discussion of the latest research on
Teamworking. The workshop is small in size and less formal than a full
conference. The strength of the workshop lies in the quality of the
discussion and the exchange of views that occurs at a smaller event.
The workshop is interactive in nature and formal
presentations will occupy only a small part of each session.
Participants will have 10 minutes to present a synopsis of their paper
and a discussant will lead the conversation in the session.
Indicative Themes: Forward To The Past? The
outlook for teamwork research.
There have been several waves of interest in the
practice of teamworking. From the foundation of the Human Relations
movement, to the establishment of Socio-Technical Systems theory, to
contemporary applications, interest in the use of teamwork has waxed and
waned. Is the contemporary interest in the use of teamwork then little
more than yet another passing fad? How far has teamwork research and
practice become part of a normal science of work organization? Is there
still a critical role for researchers to play in the analysis of
teamwork practice? The workshop will explore these questions through the
keynote speeches and the workshop plenary session. Papers related to the
workshop themes are especially encouraged, but papers on all aspects of
teamworking are welcome.

words by Friday 29th August for publication with the
Proceedings of the Workshop.

develop full papers after the workshop, for submission to a leading

Work & Employment and International Journal of HRM (forthcoming).

Leuven) and Per Sederblad (University of Malmo) is responsible for the
workshop series.
