Research links

The campus is in Melbourne's 'Parkville strip', an area of prestigious biomedical research centres, many of whom the faculty collaborates with on leading edge research projects. The campus is home to the Centre for Medication Use and Safety (CMUS) and the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS).

CMUS aims to improve the safe and effective use of medicines and has two research nodes – one within the faculty’s Department of Pharmacy Practice in Parkville and the other located in the Department of Pharmacy at The Alfred.

MIPS is a leading centre of pharmaceutical science undertaking basic and applied research. Knowledge, insight and innovation are fostered and incubated and this expertise is leveraged through our collaborative translational research programs with academic and commercial partners. MIPS is a new research initiative providing a multi-disciplinary environment to build a vibrant and innovative basic research capacity and a mechanism by which partners engage with our leading pharmaceutical scientists to design better medicines for tomorrow.
