Pathways to Peninsula campus

Not every student begins their university journey directly after Year 12. In fact, at Monash University's Peninsula campus about 50 per cent of the students have undertaken an alternative entry pathway into our courses.

TAFE studies

Monash University has Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with Chisholm, Box Hill and GippsTAFE to support the opportunity for pathways into, through and beyond Monash courses.

Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS)

The Diploma of Tertiary Studies is a one year full-time or two years part-time (new in 2012) program that gives you the opportunity to study in you area of interest if you have missed out on getting directly into the degree program. On successful completion of the DoTS, you can apply for entry into second year of the degree program of your chosen course. Students can also use DoTS results as a basis for admission to other courses at Monash or other tertiary institutions.

Single university units

At Monash, single university units can be undertaken outside of an award course where places are available. Single university units are available on a fee paying basis.

Monash College

Monash College diplomas provide a pathway into the first or second year of selected degrees. These include degrees in art and design, arts, business, or engineering. There are scholarships available for domestic students to cover the tuition fees of a Monash College diploma.

Joining the DoTS to a Law degree
It wasn't until the end of Year 12 that Alex Purcell decided he wanted to go to university. By this time, the Crib Point student had spent most of his VCE relatively disinterested in his studies.
