Back to back customer service awards

MONSU's commitment to customer service has been recognised for the second year in a row by the Australian Customer Service Association.

MONSU not only won the prestigious award in the medium business category at the state level , but last week received a Highly Commended Award in the Medium Business Category at the national level. MONSU also won the State Customer Service Award last year.

Previous national winners include Qantas, RACV and Telstra. In 1999, MONSU was the first entrant from the Australian tertiary sector to enter the awards and received strong encouragement from ACSA in leading the way in the area of customer service in education.

Proving that it was no fluke, MONSU not only won but had to significantly improve it's overall customer service delivery in order to win, as the judging benchmark increases each year in line with customer service expectations.

New nurse on campus

A new nurse has been appointed at the Peninsula campus. Penny Kalkman, who will be part of the Community Services team, has vast experience working with students.

Penny's main areas of expertise are in the fields of sexual health, adolescent health, harm minimisation, immunisation and all areas of primary nursing care.

She has also had many years of experience working with international students and understands the issues they face in studying and living away from home.

Appointments are not usually necessary and all consultations are strictly confidential. Penny can also refer to her colleagues including a psychologist, general practitioner, disability liaison officer, physiotherapist, masseuse, careers counsellor, language and learning specialist  as well as to external agencies.
