Digitising core reading material – information sessionThe library now offers digitisation and storage of core reading material for flexible online access. Students can download or print these materials from the Internet. The university has adopted a policy to centralise the digitisation of copyright protected materials for educational purposes. This is to ensure compliance with the Copyright Act and the agreement made between the university and the Copyright Agency. The Library has established the digitisation centre at the Clayton campus, which scans books and journal articles and places the digital copies in a central repository for access by authorised users via the Internet. The library manages the record keeping required to ensure that there is no unintentional copyright infringement and to track the use of the digital copies made under the agreement. To learn more about the digitisation service offered by the centre and how you may make use of its services, you are invited to attend a lunchtime presentation given by Andrew Harrison, the University Library’s Digitisation Officer. When: Wednesday, 11 April 2001, 1.10 pm – 2 pm. Where: Lecture Theatre A4.16 For further information about the presentation, please contact Andrew Harrison extn 52682.
