Monash University Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities

Monash University is committed to promoting access and equity for students who have a disability or long-term medical condition to enable them to participate as independently as possible in their educational activities.

The Monash University Advisory committee for People with Disabilities (MUACPD) is active in monitoring the university's response to the Disability Discrimination Act, and the Equal Opportunity Act regarding access to higher education for people with disabilities and the removal of discrimination which may arise from existing policies and procedures.

The MUACPD has active advisory sub-committees on the Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula, and Gippsland campuses who deal with local issues of concern. The Peninsula MUACPD Committee would like to welcome new Chair, Dr Rosalynd Smith, from the Faculty of Education. The Peninsula sub-committee meets twice a year. If staff are interested in becoming a committee member, please contact Cynthia Jenkins on extn 55704 or email dlo@adm.monash.edu.au

Staff Parking Permits for 2001

Due to a delay in a decision regarding the options to be available to
staff for payment for 2001 parking permits, we are not yet able to issue the relevant application forms.

It is still hoped to complete the application process before the end of the year; therefore, if staff are going to be on leave during late November or December, it is suggested that arrangements be made for an application to be submitted in their absence.

The fee for a Staff (Red) permit for 2001 has been set at $121.00
($110.00 + 10% GST). This represents a 10% increase, in addition to the
GST, since the fee was increased for 1999 and is to cover the movement
in costs over the past two years.

7 November 'The race that stops the nation' - the Peninsula Staff Social Club is organising a spit roast lunch for Melbourne Cup Day. Cost is $10 for staff club members and $12 for non members. This includes all food and drinks (wine, beer and soft drink). It will be held below the Seahorse Tavern from 12 noon.
