Red parking permits

Applications for 2001 Staff parking permits for Peninsula campus closed on 12 December 2000

Permits paid for may be collected from Ms Lay Lin Oh, Room C2.08, Administration Building from next Monday, 19 February 2001, between the hours of  8.45 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. Staff who are unable to collect the permit may arrange for somebody else to do so on their behalf.

Normal parking restrictions will also apply from 19 February 2001. Vehicles parked in permit areas without a valid permit will be issued with a warning notice in the first instance.

Restrictions in the metered parking areas will be enforced to maintain a turnover of vehicles in these areas."

Congratulations! 

Yuliang Zheng from the School of Network Computing has recently been appointed a Professorial Fellow

Professor Zheng is internationally renowned for his research into developing data security technologies  for reliable, secure and privacy-protecting e-commerce.

Through his Laboratory for Information & Network Security (LINKS)  based a the Peninsula campus, Professor Zheng is involved in all major areas of data security for networked computing systems.

Professor Zheng said he was very happy with the appointment, taking it as an indication of Monash's recognition of his contributions to the university and his international standing in data security technology. 

"I am hoping that the new appointment will help further enhance Monash's top-quality research, PhD student supervision and teaching,  especially in the area of data security and electronic commerce."

Gift tree appeal

The Brotherhood of St Laurence and the Frankston Community Support and Information Centre gratefully received gifts donated by staff at Monash's Peninsula campus at the end of last year. The two organisations distributed the gifts to local families in need. 

 

The Women's Networking and Support Group meeting will be held this Thursday 15 February in C1.02 at 1 pm (BYO lunch).
