Cool climate wines on show

Wine technology and marketing students received valuable experience recently at the Cool Climate Wine Show hosted by the Red Hill Show Society.

With  some 700 wines judged over the course of the show as well as public wine tasting, the students acted as stewards for judges and the public.

A gala award dinner was also held where the winner of the Wine Technology and Marketing, Monash University Best Sparkling Wine Trophy was presented.

This year's winners were Murray and Adrienne Cousins from Macedon for their Mt. William 1999 Macedon Sparkling Wine.

Dr Mary Cole, Director of the Wine Technology and Marketing Unit, has established very strong links with the Peninsula vignerons and the wine industry in general and this is a further example of the networking of Monash Peninsula and industry participation to achieve successful outcomes for our students and the commercial sector.
