RELAY FOR LIFE

A 23 member team of Caulfield staff and family members took part in the Relay for Life 25 hour event at the Duncan Mackinnon Athletics Track in Murrumbeena at the weekend. Relay for Life raises money for cancer research, education and patient services at the Anti-Cancer Council of Victoria and it is a celebration of remembrance, hope and thanks.

The Caulfield team (Monash Blues RfL) was one of 72 teams that walked, jogged and ran around the track for 25 hours (the extra hour due to daylight savings) and it notched up a total of 381 laps. It certainly was a campus effort with staff participating from the Library, Community Services, Facilities and Services, Estates Management, the School of Information Management and Systems, MONSU and the Campus Director's Office.

Team members found the experience memorable, rewarding and fun and many are keen to take part again next year.

If you would like to assist with some fund-raising for Relay for Life it is not too late! The Library is still selling chocolates at the Enquiries desk to raise funds: Cadbury Easter bunnies @ $2 each, Cadbury solid little eggs @ $3 a bag, large Freddo frogs @ $1 each and packets of 5 Chuppa Chups @ $2. Come up to the Library over the next couple of days, buy some goodies and support a great cause!
