DETAILS
International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the diversity and culture of women as a special group in society. It originated as a
vessel for women to express gender inequalities affecting them. Women were
traditionally held back from participating in work and sport and from expressing opinions. With progress a good deal of this has changed
but women still work toward attaining various goals such as parental leave, affordable childcare and an acceptance of diversity. Purple,
green and white are the traditional colours associated with the first wave of
feminism so please feel free to wear these colours if you would like to.
The lunch will provide an excellent opportunity to hear a stimulating
speaker and to meet other staff and students from Caulfield campus.
If you would like to register an expression of interest in attending the
lunch please email Suzanne Wolf from Community Services
as soon as possible.
Cash ($25) can be brought to Suzanne at Community Services, 7 Princes Avenue (opposite Student Union) or cheques (payable to VATC) can be
delivered or sent to Suzanne.
Please contact Suzanne on extn 32500 if you have any other particular payment arrangements.
Payment is due by close of business on Thursday 22 February. Please also advise Suzanne by this date if you
require a vegetarian meal.
Numbers are limited so please register your interest early and secure a
place! Please feel free to invite colleagues from other campuses and
friends from outside Monash.
If you have any queries please contact Suzanne on
