Relay for Life - saving livesThe Anti-Cancer Council Victoria's newest fundraising success, Relay for Life, is happening across the state again in 2001.Last year, many people from Monash, including a team from the Campus Director's Office and MONSU, were fortunate enough to take part in this overwhelmingly, successful phenomenon. The Campus Director's Office is again coordinating a team to take part in the Murrumbeena event on 24 and 25 March 2001, and is keen to hear from people who are interested in participating. What is Relay for Life? What's involved? Over the course of the weekend, there will be a range of entertainment and prizes as well as a free breakfast to keep the energy levels up. There is also the moving candlelight ceremony held at dusk. Participants are able to place their own candle tribute around the track in support of survivors or in memory of loved ones lost. Cancer survivors and carers are also invited to lead the first lap that officially signals the beginning of the event. For further information or to register you interest in joining the Campus Director's team, contact Christel Kent in the Campus Director's Office on extn 31000.
