CareerStart 2002
CareerStart 2002, a three day job seeking program, will be held on 26, 27, 28 November 2002 at Caulfield.
The program is being coordinated by Mary Gordon, Careers Counsellor at Monash Student Employment and Careers
Service (MONSEACS).
CareerStart 2002 is ideal for penultimate year students and students completing their degrees. It covers
areas such as resume/letter writing, interview skills, mock interviews,
psychometric testing demystified and assessment centre activities.
Many employer representatives will be in attendance and presenting
the sessions including Accenture, Connell Wagner, Ford, Ernst & Young,
UBS Warburg, Grant Thornton, DST International and many more.
CareerStart is great opportunity for students to hear from employers
regarding what they are looking for in prospective employees.

Insurance options for a secure future

Staff
are invited to RetireInvest
Malvern's seminar entitled 'Insurance – it does give you peace of mind'
on Monday 28 October at 1 pm.
In this seminar, presenter Peter Murray, an
insurance expert with RetireInvest,
will provide participants with an understanding of the need for personal
insurance, including term, trauma and income protection.
A short
video of a real life example will illustrate the power of insurance
protection.
This will be followed by an opportunity to discuss
the situation represented on the video and explore the
what ifs.
Using
hindsight, Peter will provide a better case scenario for the video family
showing how their lives could be changed using the appropriate insurance
protection.
Participants will them be
given the opportunity to discuss their thoughts on insurance protection
and ask questions.
This free seminar
will be held in the Clayfield Room. A
light lunch will be provided. The
seminar will run for approximately 50 minutes, with questions encouraged
during the session.

Relay for Life fun fundraisers
Monash University's Peninsula campus is again coordinating the
Cancer Council's fundraising event Relay for Life.
Many of the Monash/Monyx teams are holding fun fundraising activities. If you would
like to support Relay for Life, below are some fundraising activities that
everyone is invited to attend.

MONDAY 4 NOVEMBER the Monyx
teams are holding a comedy/auction night at the Gryph Inn from 7 pm. |

The evening will consists of a number of un
activities including comedy acts,
a Karaoke performance from each team, a Melbourne Cup Calcutta whereby you can purchase
the long shot for $2 or the favourite for $30 plus, and a general
auction of a range of items.
Drinks will be available at bar prices.
Finger food will be included in the admission
price of $15.

IT@Monash team is hosting a shopping
extravaganza. A great opportunity to get all you Christmas
shopping out of the way in one day. |
