Academic
Director's Function
Just over 100 staff and members of the Monash University Caulfield
community enjoyed drinks and refreshments at the Academic Director's
Function in the Clayfield Room on Tuesday 29 November. They also
enjoyed entertainment provided by the talents of Monash
staff. Terry Hogan (vocals and lead guitar), Rod Thomas (drums)
Jeremy Du Ve (saxophone) and Mark Hartwell (bass guitar). Rob Willis and
Mary O'Shea also displayed hidden talents by singing a couple of Van
Morrison songs.
It was
great to see so many staff come together, relax, enjoy a drink and celebrate
the end of another year. See a future edition of Offcourse for photos.

get ACCTIVE - The next

The
get ACCTIVE group is pleased to announce that the next 10,000
steps Challenge will be around the beautiful islands of The Bahamas.
The get ACCTIVE group chose The Bahamas as it is the country that has
been adopted by The City of Glen Eira to support during the Commonwealth
Games in March.
The
Challenge will be a 10 person team, four week event, commencing on
26 February, encompassing the Commonwealth Games and finishing on 26
March.

floral shirts and turn up that calypso music.
Underground Water Tanks
During
December 2005 Facilities & Services undertook works for the installation
of 170,000 litre underground water tanks on the common lawn outside
Buildings K and N. Rain water from the roofs of Buildings K and N will
be captured and re-directed to the underground tanks. This water
will be utilised for the irrigation of the common lawn and it is hoped
to extend the use of the tanks to other areas around campus, to include
garden beds and possibly the flushing water for toilets. Notices
will be issued at various times advising the volumes of water saved.

Rectification
works to the common lawn will commence early next week.

Sir John Monash
Drive Roundabout
The roundabout situated at Sir John Monash Drive and
Queens Avenue has always been a hazardous area for both pedestrians and
vehicles. Facilities & Services, in conjunction with The City of
Glen Eira, undertook works to improve the functionality and safety of the
existing roundabout.

Sir John Monash Drive & Queens Avenue)
By introducing
new signage, road markings and flashing pedestrian lights, a safe
environment for pedestrian and vehicular traffic has been achieved. In
addition, the new roundabout has been designed with aesthetically pleasing
features such as the palm tree centre piece which blends in with the
existing surroundings.
