The Hope Project Cambodia is a community based
organization that works in Chup Commune (12 villages) in Prey Net Preah District
Banteay Meanchey Province Cambodia. We work with local authorities and the
communities to develop sustainable social and economic initiatives that will
improve the health and wellbeing of the poorest and most vulnerable families in
these communities. We are not a non-government organization. Instead we work
within the local government and community structures. The HOPE Project is run by
a Cambodian project team who live and work in the project villages. Liz Hoban is
the founder and technical advisor.
The HOPE Project is funded by private donations and from
the sale of Kings Christmas Puddings. 100% of the money raised from the sale of
Kings Christmas Puddings goes towards to HOPE Project activities. You can find
out more about the Project's activities at www.hopeprojectcambodia.com
The 2009 Kings Christmas Pudding Fundraising Campaign will raise money for the
Get the Kids to School Program. Funds raised will continue to fully fund
the existing 72 children who hold education scholarships and increase the number
to 76 education scholarships by the beginning of the 2010 school year. The HOPE
Project intends to be proactive in the recruitment of female children to either
continue their studies in secondary school or to support female children who
were intending to drop out of school at the completion of Grade 6.
