Mr Trevor O'Hoy (BEc 1976)
Businessman

Trevor O'Hoy is a high profile businessman and Chair of the Monash University Campaign.

Mr O'Hoy graduated from Monash with a Bachelor of Economics in 1976. He is also a graduate of the AASC Middle Management Program at Mount Eliza, Victoria, and the Harvard Advanced Management Program for international managers.

In 1976, Mr O'Hoy joined Carlton & United Beverages (CUB - a division of Foster's Group), as a cadet executive, moving into several accounting roles before being appointed general manager finance of the company's southern region in 1985. Mr O'Hoy then went on to executive roles that included responsibilities for group business planning, strategy and investments, finance and business reengineering, enterprise projects, and strategy and retail.

From 1997-2002, he served as chief financial officer and senior vice president of business services, Foster's, responsible for the group's global financial affairs, group treasury, group strategy, information technology and investor relations.

In 2002, Mr O'Hoy was appointed managing director of CUB, with responsibilities including maintaining and enhancing sales volumes, product and process innovation, maximising operational efficiencies and returns, and delivering on growth targets.

In 2004, he was appointed President and CEO of Foster's after 28 years of continuous service with the global multi-beverage company.

Mr O'Hoy resigned from Foster's in June 2008 after serving 32 years with the company.

Mr O'Hoy is the recipient of the 2001 Australian INSTO magazine CFO of the year award and was voted by his peers as BRW magazine's most admired new CEO of 2005. Monash recognised his achievements by presenting him with a 2005 Distinguished Alumni Award.
