Monash University Alumni Relations: Special Bulletin

The four pillars of alumni programming

2. Lifelong learning

Monash graduates are keen learners and have a passion for knowledge.

Monash alumni told us:

  • 65% of alumni under 35 are interested in careers and professional development programs
  • 55% are interested in receiving information on Monash research and development
  • 52% are interested in receiving information on university progress
  • 51% are interested in receiving information on alumni and university events
  • 42% of alumni indicated that they have an interest in performing arts

What have we done?

  • Realigned the “Gearing for Success” seminar series to focus on career progression, leadership, management skills and networking
  • Invited alumni to selected performances, concerts and other arts and special events
  • Emphasised, within alumni communications, information about Monash research, alumni news and events

Working together, we will:

  • Expand faculty-based and special interest group learning opportunities
  • Continue to research the various groups within the alumni base, and develop and support learning opportunities
  • Continue to highlight the knowledge and expertise of alumni and invite them to develop and deliver learning sessions
  • Provide additional ways for you to learn more about Monash research, research outcomes and developments through showcase events and electronic and print communications
