Mr Alistair Lloyd AO RFD ED (PhC 1956)

Distinguished Alumni Service Award 2008

Alistair Lloyd AO RFD ED has actively contributed to the Victorian College of Pharmacy for more than 50 years. Mr Lloyd joined the Victorian College of Pharmacy Foundation when it was founded in 2001 and has since served as Foundation Chairman. In this role he has formed and strengthened ties with alumni and established a number of student-alumni engagement initiatives.

The Dean of the Victorian College of Pharmacy, Professor William Charman (BPharm 1981), nominated Mr Lloyd and writes: “Alistair is arguably the most respected member of the pharmacy community… and no one has done more (or could do more) for strengthening the relationship between Monash University and its pharmacy alumni.” Professor Charman concludes by commenting that Alistair Lloyd “is pharmacy’s Don Bradman – his tireless efforts and contributions have made our Faculty, Foundation and alumni networks the strong and vibrant programs they are today.”

Registrar of the Pharmacy Board of Victoria, Stephen Marty (BPharm 1970) writes: “Mr Lloyd is one of a few highly respected elder statesmen of the pharmacy profession. Through his personal enthusiasm, leadership and desire to progress all aspects of the profession and in particular its future, through its graduates, he is a tireless driver to maintain the momentum now established in the Faculty and Monash University.”
