A walk around Australia

Deborah De Williams with Olympian Tatiana Grigorieva
Deborah De Williams, a Monash fine arts graduate, will be the first woman to walk around Australia when she completes a 14000km trek of the country's perimeter next year.

Through her epic journey, Deborah is raising money and awareness for Kids Helpline, a phone counselling service for children.

Inspired by a map of Australia hanging on her wall and the achievements of Nobby Young, the first person to walk around Australia, Deborah describes her "amazing experience" as an opportunity to achieve her dreams while helping others.

For 12 months she will travel through remote parts of Australia, walking an average of 42km (the equivalent of a marathon) each day, stopping along the way for public speaking engagements at  local schools and community groups.

Deborah's 'Walk Around Australia' tour will end in Melbourne in October next year.

For more information on the journey, visit Deborah's website at www.walkaroundoz.org.au
