David Oh
No, it’s not Tony Leung, Pierre Png or even Anwar Ibrahim! David Oh has been mistaken for quite a few
famous people.
David spent a total of six years in Melbourne, Australia, starting out at Taylor’s College for his VCE and ending with a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws at the
Monash Clayton campus. At Monash, he was known as the tireless Director of the Monash University International Students’ Service (MUISS) and later held the post of National Education Officer of the National Liaison Committee for International Students in Australia (NLC). His dedication towards students’ welfare was evidenced by his involvement in the campus student politics that saw his team elected to lead the Monash Association of Students (MAS) for 2 years in a row.
Upon his return to Malaysia, David began his legal career at one of KL’s largest law firms, Skrine & Co., where he practised Intellectual Property Law. He eventually started his own law firm, The Law Office of David Oh, and today, he is Director of
Mindvault Sdn Bhd, a firm
of Intellectual Property Consultants.
Having spent more than a decade in training and development with non-profit organisations, David is active within the speaking circuit. He has given talks with organisations including the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad (MAVCAP) and the Malayan Law Journal (MLJ). Anyone who has heard David speak is convinced of his commitment to raising corporate Malaysia’s awareness on the importance of Intellectual Property in today’s k-economy.
David has a passion for helping people and devotes much of his time to church work. He finds great fulfilment in seeing people’s lives being changed. He is an avid reader, with a personal collection of more than 800 books.
David also plays the guitar and composes. His love of music has led
him to mentor a Christian rock band.
Weekends are spent hanging out with friends at the church or catching up on the latest movies. David is a big-time movie
fan! During the week, you can find him chilling out at Starbucks in Plaza Mont’ Kiara where his office is located.
