Chong See Ming

Originally from a little town in Southern Perak called Teluk Intan, Chong See Ming graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree from Monash in 1995 and has since chalked up extensive work experience in the Malaysian technology arena.Chong See Ming

She currently spearheads communications in JobStreet.com, an online recruitment company in Asia with nine offices in four countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and India).

She's really excited about JobStreet when it recently established global partnerships with Seek Australia, Zhaopin of China and the US-based Careerbuilder.com.

As the Head of Communications at JobStreet.com, See Ming manages all the company's public relations efforts covering areas like media, universities as well as community relations. The most rewarding part of her job, according to See Ming, is travelling across Malaysia to conduct workshops and seminars for fresh graduates on interview skills, resume tips as well as sharing insights on what employers want.

She enjoys these sessions very much as she finds it very invigorating to meet young undergraduates who are starry-eyed and full of hope.

See Ming seems to have fingers in many pies; being actively involved with the Malaysian Nature Society where she was its Selangor Branch committee member from 1999-2003. At the same time, she was a founding executive council member of Technoprenuers' Association of Malaysia and has just been appointed the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for PROMUDA, Young Professionals Chamber of Malaysia.

But the portfolio that she's most known for is that of co-founder of WORD UP!, Kuala Lumpur's most exciting gathering for writers. In just 3 years, See Ming with her partners have helped develop the group to almost 700 members.

Her personal passion for writing is evident, as you can quite often find See Ming contributing lifestyle features for The Edge, Malaysia's leading business weekly, opinion and personality interviews to V Mag (English edition) and travel articles to its sister publication, Astro Magazine, the Hotel Edition.

Come weekends, See Ming juggles an addiction to flea-market hunting with attending to the many staghorns and other rare plants in her garden. She can be contacted at seeming@jobstreet.com and is also an active member of online networking groups, Ryze and Friendster.
