Mr Graham Allan is the Group Chief Executive of The Dairy Farm Group. Mr Allan was born in Melbourne in 1955.
He was educated at Melbourne Grammar School and then went on to Monash University to study Economics and Law.
On graduating in 1978, he joined a leading law firm in Melbourne. Five years later, he completed a Master of Business Administration at Melbourne University where he graduated dux of his class.
In November 1983, Mr Allan joined McKinsey & Co Inc. and spent five years in consulting, much of it working for companies in the consumer goods sector.
He was initially based in Melbourne before moving in turn to New York and Madrid. Since April 1989, Mr Allan has held senior positions in multinational food and beverage companies and has lived and worked in Australia, US, Europe and Asia. Mr Allan joined the Board of Dairy Farm International Holdings Ltd (a US$13 billion Asian retailer) in January 2013 as Group Chief Executive, having been Chief Operating Officer since June 2012.
Immediately prior to joining Dairy Farm, Mr Allan had been CEO/President of Yum! Restaurants International and was responsible for KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell in all international markets except China (total sales of approximately US$17 billion from more than 15,000 restaurants in 124 countries and territories).
From 2010 to 2012 and prior to moving to Hong Kong, Mr Allan served as a non-executive Director of InterContinental Hotels Group plc.
He currently serves on the Board of The Consumer Goods Forum, an international industry body based in Paris.
Prior community roles included the Board of the Mercy Maternity Hospital, Vice-President of the Victorian Liberal Party and Member of the Federal Government’s Australia Day Council.
Mr Allan is married to Judy and they have three children, one of whom is currently a student at Monash University.
