A commonly held belief that the type of music someone listens to while driving may influence their behaviour on the roads could prove to be a myth, according to a Monash University study by Dr Nikki Rickard and honours student Mr James Pett. <full story>
 

Medicine turns 40
The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences celebrates its 40th anniversary since the official opening by Sir MacFarlane Burnett.
A weekend of celebrations 25 - 26 October include a Symposium, the 40th Anniversary Gala Ball and a Family Picnic. Join in the celebrations with fellow alumni.

Monash IT postgrads could solve your IT problems
Do you have a live business problem requiring an IT solution? Postgraduate students in the Master of Business Technology course could deliver a solution within a fortnight. Monash at BIO 2003, Washington DC
Monash will participate in BIO 2003, a major international biotechnology convention to be held in Washington DC, 22-25 June. Monash delegates  can be found within the Technology Australia pavilion (#935). 
On Tuesday 24 June, the Monash stand will host a wine tasting event from 2-4pm in conjunction with AusTrade. We welcome alumni to our stand and invite you to catch up on all the latest technology.

Monash Institute for the Study of Global Movements

Monash University Annual Appeal 
Obesity affects more than 300 million people worldwide and costs Australians up to a million dollars a day trying to counter the condition. Research at Monash has led to the development of a new drug that could prevent children from carrying obesity into adulthood. This research is just one of hundreds of projects being undertaken at Monash and requiring support from alumni.
