NEWS FROM MONASH1.1 MONASH WINS $157M SYNCHROTRON FACILITYMonash University will host Australia's first synchrotron, a powerful
$157 million microscope that allows scientists to examine molecular
structures at an atomic level. 1.2 NEW SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH AND INNOVATION PRECINCTMonash University has launched its concept for an International Centre
for Science Technology and Emerging Industries. The centre will provide
opportunities for business and industry to collaborate with researchers
and be located in an innovation cluster at the Clayton campus. 1.3 RECEIVING UNIVERSITY RESULTS THE SMS WAYAbout 1000 Monash students have received their course results via a
mobile phone text message, in what is believed to be a world first for a
university.

and how to register at: 2.4 MONASH GRADUATE PLAYERS PERFORM 'PANDORA'S BOX':A Restoration comedy in two acts, written by contemporary Australian
playwright and recent Monash graduate Sally Faraday, 'Pandora's Box' is a
play within a play, centred in the imagination of Aphra Behn - notorious
female playwright of the Restoration. Performed at 7.30 pm, Aug 21, at
Westminster University. 2.5 MONASH MBA ALUMNI NETWORKMonash MBA alumni are invited 'back to Monash' to hear Professor Allan
Fels AO, chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission,
speak on 'The Trade Practices Act - Friend or Enemy of Business'. 6 pm to
