3. Alumni recognition

As a part of the Monash alumni community, you are a life-time “ambassador” for the University. Many of you also play a key role through direct involvement in University-related activities. Monash is committed to recognising and promoting the achievements of our alumni.

Monash alumni told us:

• Alumni survey respondents agreed (average rating is 8.2 out of maximum of 10) with the statement that they proud to be Monash graduates
• 94% indicated they would consider Monash ahead of or equal to other institutions for further study
• 64% of respondents who have studied at more than one university have a higher connection to Monash than their other institution
• 40% of alumni would like to know more about notable graduates

What have we done?

• Expanded the number of Distinguished Alumni Awards presented by Monash
• Increased information about prominent alumni on the alumni web pages
• Ensured information highlighting alumni achievements is featured in articles in Monash Magazine
• Promoted recognition and awareness of prominent alumni by inviting them to speak at key events for Monash alumni and staff
• Invited distinguished alumni to attend key events across the University calendar

Working together, we will:

• Bestow awards and prizes that recognise alumni achievements
• Increase efforts to identify your achievements and highlight these through publications, the web and events
• Identify high achieving alumni and invite them to participate in strategic activities within the University calendar
