Monash Alumni Advisory Group

At the 2007 international alumni summit convened by the Donor, Alumni and Community Relations (DACR) Division of Monash University, representatives from local alumni associations committed to the development of the Monash Alumni Advisory Group on the following understanding:

Role

The Monash Alumni Advisory Group will:

• Seek and articulate the views of the Monash alumni community with a single voice and a global perspective
• Respond and provide guidance and counsel to Monash University on the direction of the overall alumni program
• Respond and provide guidance and counsel to Monash University on specific activities and significant events
• Be a forum for the exchange of information between alumni groups
• Support and guide alumni groups, particularly newly formed groups

Composition

The Advisory Group will be constituted from committee members of alumni groups.

Initially the Advisory Group will be comprised of two members from each of the Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand Chapters.

DACR may recognise additional alumni groups and recommend their inclusion in the Advisory Group.

Operation

The Advisory Group will meet face to face annually and in between by other means

The Chair of the meeting will rotate amongst members

Details relating to the values, operation and governance of this group will be developed and formalised over the first year of its operation.
