Monash Alumni Group - Malaysia (MAG)

When you graduate from Monash University, you automatically become part of the global Monash alumni community. In addition, you may wish to join a local Monash alumni association, chapter or interest group.

Formerly known as the Young Alumni Group, MAG was established in 2004 by a group of dedicated, committed and visionary alumni from Monash University.

Today, this group has established itself as the official Monash alumni body in Malaysia and has developed relations with the global Monash alumni community. Connecting across borders, MAG has good ties with its counterparts in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.

MAG welcomes a new team

March 2008

MAG members welcomed a new president and new committee members at its Annual General Meeting this month.

The AGM, held at at Aaliyah Island Restaurant in Malaysia, was a night filled with laughter, sentimental moments and excitement, and saw Ms Carol Yip (BEc(Hons) 1988) appointed as MAG's new president.

Alumni expressed their thanks to past president Ms Cheryl Teh (BCom 1994, GradDipMktg 1995) for her dedication and commitment as MAG president for two consecutive terms. Ms Teh is an avid supporter of MAG, being one of the founding members and its longest-serving president.

With a complete and organised structure, the new MAG committee is now making great plans for 2008 and 2009.
