Ikatan Alumni Australia (IKAMA)
IKAMA is the national association for Indonesian graduates of Australian
educational institutions. It is a non-profit body that aims to build and
strengthen the network of Australian graduates in Indonesia.
Established in 1963 by the first group of Indonesians who graduated from
Australian universities under the Colombo Plan, IKAMA became a legal entity
in April 1980. With strong support from its members and the Australian
Embassy in Jakarta, the IKAMA continues to expand and cooperate
with Australian and Indonesian organizations and commercial companies.
As an alumni association, IKAMA aims to:
- Strengthen the relationship and network among Australian alumni
- Foster IKAMA members' active participation in the Indonesia's development
- Promote the Indonesia-Australia bilateral relationship
