For service as a historian, social commentator and writer profoundly influencing and shaping ideas in the community on urban policy, town planning and social and economic development.

AO (Officer in the Order of Australia)

Ms Catherine McGowan (BA 1976)

For service to the community through raising awareness of and stimulating debate about issues affecting women in regional, rural and remote areas. <read profile>

Dr Brenda Mary Niall (PhD 1988)

For service to Australian literature as an academic, biographer and literary critic.

AM (Member in the Order of Australia)

Dr Margaret Nancy Brumby

For service to medical administration and management of biomedical research facilities, particularly the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.

Professor Alfred Shin Huang (MAdmin 1981)

For service to local government, to business and commerce through the promotion of education and trade opportunities between Adelaide and the South-East Asian region, and to the community through civic, multicultural and social welfare initiatives.

Mr Grant Frederick Latta (DipBus(Acctg)1976)

For service to business, particularly through the food processing and grain industries.

Emeritus Professor Richard Thomas White (PhD 1972)

For service as a leader in educational research, and to tertiary education.

OAM (Medal in the Order of Australia)

Mr Wilfred Patrick Amarant (PhC 1953)

For service to the community and to local government in the borough of Koroit.

Ms Jane M Edmanson (BA 1971, DipEd 1972)

For service to horticulture, particularly through the promotion of environmentally sustainable gardening practices, and the encouragement and education of young gardeners.

Mrs Jillian Baldwin Fearon (BA 1981)

For service to the community through a range of organizations, particularly the Southern Peninsula Community Support and Information Centre.

Mrs Diana Vicki Sher (BA 1979)

For service to the community, particularly through the Windana Society Incorporated.

Dr Graeme John Southwick (MB,BS w/hons 1970)

For service through the provision of immediate medical help to the victims of the Bali bombing.

Mr Gerry Tickell (MEd qual)

For service to education as a teacher, academic and administrator, and to the community, particularly through basketball administration.

For outstanding public service through his contribution to the development of a national framework for corporate regulation in Australia.

For outstanding public service to the learning and development of correctional services staff as manager, learning and development, Corrections Victoria.

Mr Stanley Brian Oakley (BEd 1983)

For outstanding public service in primary school education, particularly to student and staff wellbeing.
